This is my very first posting to my very first blog.
I'm often a rather indecisive person, and writing about Lesson 1 and the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners is no exception. Depending on the situation and my frame of mind, any of the habits might be relatively easy or difficult.
Consequently, I will temporarily side-step the assignment, and write about the Contract. I like the Contract idea. Breaking a goal into smaller components should make a
goal seem less insurmountable. I can see where this would be useful in many life tasks, and I plan to try it out in other situations.
Back to the habits, the world isn't black & white, it's grey or better yet multi-colored, and my original response feels right. For instance, Habit 3. While I know I should view problems as challenges, there is a tendency for me to feel sorry for myself, and say the world is unfair and against me, and give up. The harder the challenge, or the lower my mood, the quicker I will be to give up. On the other hand, if I'm well-rested and the sun is shining, I may not see the challenge as so great an obstacle, and will easily deal with it.

I also posted my first blog for this class. I can see your point about our state of mind and how we view our "challenges and problems". My habit was easy and is why I'm taking this class. I cannot decide if I view me technology-impaired self as a challenge or a problem and it changes daily, sometimes hourly.
